Suwanee ClayWorks offers custom glaze mixing services fit to your needs, whether by the pint or by the pound. Our skilled team will meticulously weigh and blend your desired recipe, utilizing only non-toxic materials at competitive market prices.

Dive into creative freedom with our Open Studio Program. With no instructor and flexible hours, you can express your creativity at your own pace. Access studio equipment, shared tools and glazes while enjoying the convenience of daily availability. Whether collaborating with friends or seeking solitude, this program is fit for self-directed artists. First bag of clay included, with additional available for purchase.

All Open Studios Include:

  • Access to studio equipment, shared tools and glazes.
  • Access to the studio during scheduled Open Studio hours throughout your registered session.

All Open Studios Require:

  •  Applicants must possess prior clay studio experience and demonstrate the ability to independently complete projects successfully.
  • Completion of at least one class at Suwanee Clayworks is mandatory.
  • Prior positive interactions with Studio Management, ensuring mutual confidence in success, are necessary.
  • Signing the Open Studio Policies & Procedures is mandatory.
  • Agreement to adhere to Suwanee Clayworks Terms & Conditions is required.

Suwanee Clayworks offers professional consulting services to guide you through any ceramic challenges. From glaze and firing issues to technical queries and project planning, we provide personalized assistance and product recommendations.


With the first five minutes free, we aim to be an educational resource for our ceramic community. If further assistance is needed, schedule an appointment for focused expertise via phone, Zoom or in-person. Benefit from expert guidance tailored to your needs and pay for the time you use!

Small Reservations, less than 6 = $50 Reservation Fee, plus the cost of your bisque pieces.

Large Reservations, 7+ people = $100 Reservation Fee, plus $25, $30, and $40 options for bisque.

Come and cruise our selection of bisque pottery pieces that are ready for you to paint and personalize. Our instructors will demonstrate basic painting techniques to get you started. We provide a rainbow of underglaze colors, brushes and tools, and even a little inspiration! Pieces are left with Suwanee Clayworks for 2 weeks to be dipped and fired to a glossy food-safe finish. Please call or email to make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance.

All supplies and firing included. You can let your party pick freely from our bisque wall, or decide on a specific object or price point for your party ahead of time. Bisque pieces start at $5. Reservation includes 2 hours of studio time.

    We aim for a 2-week turnaround time, although this may vary depending on demand throughout the year.
  2. How does Suwanee ClayWorks handle the treatment of customers’ pieces?
    Every piece is treated with care and attention, but it’s important to note that our kilns are a shared space, and accidents can happen.
  3. Is Suwanee ClayWorks liable for any damage that may occur during the firing process?
    Suwanee ClayWorks is not responsible for any damage, including cracking, exploding or glazing issues. Customers are advised to provide catch trays for troublesome glazes.
  4. What additional services does Suwanee ClayWorks offer?
    We offer stilting for a fee, although it’s not frequently recommended due to potential warping and structural concerns.
  5. Does Suwanee ClayWorks have a policy regarding refusal of pieces?
    Yes, we reserve the right to refuse any piece or artist for any reason.
  6. What forms and payments are required when dropping off pieces for firing?
    Customers must fill out firing forms upon drop-off, and payment is due upon pickup.
  7. How does Suwanee ClayWorks handle the firing process?
    Work is loaded as presented, and firing slips with specific notes are welcome for communication.
  8. What is the policy regarding damages to kiln shelves?
    Customers may be charged for damages to kiln shelves caused by their pieces.

    All firing requests adhere to our policies, including the disclosure of materials used and understanding of cone ratings.
  10. What type of firing atmosphere does Suwanee ClayWorks provide?
    We only fire oxidation atmosphere up to Cone 6.
  11. What requirement does Suwanee ClayWorks have regarding the dryness of pieces before firing?
    Pieces must be completely dry before firing.
  12. Does Suwanee ClayWorks accept single-fire pieces?
    We reserve the right to reject single-fire pieces.
  13. How are customers charged for firing services?
    Charges are based on the percentage of kiln space used.
  14. Are there any provisions for policy updates at Suwanee ClayWorks?
    Policies may be adjusted, and customers are encouraged to inquire about any updates.
  15. What happens if customers do not pick up their completed work within a certain timeframe?
    Pieces not picked up within 30 days will be discarded without refunds.
